Huolinhe Airport, located eight kilometers northwest of Huolinhe Community, Dalai Hushuo Sumu, Holingola City, is more than 30 kilometers away from the urban area. The 4C-level airport, a domestic regional airport, has a runway of 2,700 meters long and 45 meters wide. A vertical linking taxiway with a length of 237 meters and a width of 18 meters is set between the runway and the apron. Class I precision approach lighting system is set in the main descent direction at the east end of the runway, and Type B simple lighting system is set in the secondary descent direction at the west end. The terminal building covers an area of 7,470 square meters, with three aprons (4C and 1B), and the fire rescue level is 6.

On August 20, 2013, Huolinhe Airport in Holingola started construction. On December 13, 2016, the test flight to Huolinhe Airport in Holingola was a success. On June 2, 2017, Huolinhe Airport was officially put into use. In May 2013 and March 2021, Holingola Municipal People's Government signed an agreement with Inner Mongolia Civil Aviation Airport Group to entrust it with the operation and management of Huolinhe Airport, and Inner Mongolia Huolinhe Airport Management Co., Ltd. was responsible for the airport operation.

Huolinhe Airport has opened routes reaching eight cities, including Hohhot, Tongliao, Shenyang, Beijing, Baotou, Xi'an, Xilinhot, and Tianjin, which are operated by six airlines, including Xiamen Airlines, Ruili Airlines, China Express, Tianjin Airlines, Xinjiang Tongyong Airline, and AVIC Hebei. In 2021, a total of 1,617 transportation movements were guaranteed, with a passenger throughput of 100,000 and a cargo and mail throughput of 5.94 tons.
