Ulanqab Airport is located in the east-north of downtown Ulanqab, in Sanchengju Administrative Village, Malianqu Township, 11.3 km away from the railway station. With a 4C-level airfield area, the airport has a runway 3,200 meters long, with nine parking spaces, and seven jet bridges and the terminal building covers 35,700 square meters, which can be used for Boeing 737 series and smaller models of aircraft to take off and land. The apron stand is large enough to berth three Boeing 737 series C aircraft and one Y-12 class B aircraft at the same time. In May 2012, the construction of Ulanqab Airport was started. On November 13, 2015, the construction of Ulanqab Airport was completed and passed acceptance. On April 25, 2016, Ulanqab Jining Airport was opened. On January 28, 2013, under a trusteeship agreement signed between Ulanqab Municipal Government and Inner Mongolia Civil Aviation Airport Group, the management of Ulanqab Airport was officially entrusted to Inner Mongolia Civil Aviation Airport Group.
