Bayannur Airport is located in Tianjitai Town, Wuyuan County, Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 33 kilometers away from the center of Linhe District, 23 kilometers away from Bayannur Economic Development Zone, 63 kilometers away from Jinquan Industrial Park, 163 kilometers away from Mongolian border and five kilometers away from Beijing-Lhasa Expressway. With a 4C-class airfield area, the airport has six parking spaces and two boarding bridges. The terminal building covers an area of 7,076 square meters, the runway is 2,600 meters long and the apron covers an area of 28,595 square meters. After the preliminary design was approved by the CAAC North China Regional Administration and the Development and Reform Commission of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on January 26, 2010, Bayannur Airport started construction in an all-round way and was officially put into use on December 30, 2011. On October 30, 2010, Bayannur Municipal Government signed a trusteeship agreement with Inner Mongolia Civil Aviation Airport Group, and Bayannur Airport was officially entrusted by Inner Mongolia Civil Aviation Airport Group for management. The airport is designed to handle an annual throughput of 230,000 passengers and cargo and mail throughput of 810 tons, which can be used for Boeing 737-800, Airbus 320, and smaller models of aircraft.
