Urad Middle Banner Airport is a national pilot project to expand the field of general aviation services. The airport is located in Hurimutugacha, Wengeng Town. It is 17.88 kilometers away from Hailiutu, where the Qi government is located, 110 kilometers away from the China-Mongolia border area, 350 kilometers away from Hohhot, 230 kilometers away from Baotou City and 150 kilometers away from Bayannur City. The elevation of the airport is 1,425 meters.

Urad Middle Banner Airport is built according to Class I General Airport Standard, with a 2B-class airfield area, with a runway 1,200 meters long and 30 meters wide in a northwest and southeast direction. The apron is designed to park three Class B taxiway ramps, with a length of 96 meters and a width of 72 meters. It is equipped with 1,090 square meters of a comprehensive facility, 283 square meters of power stations, 193 square meters of oil garage, and two 750 square meters of assembled hangars (one of which is a warm garage). NDB/DME navigation station (jointly built) is 900 meters away from the main descent direction (southeast end) of the runway.

The airport is mainly used for short-distance transportation, flight training, aviation school training, aerial forage seeding, artificial precipitation enhancement, border patrol, aerial photography, tourism, and other general flights, and also undertakes some public functions, including emergency rescue, police fire fighting, medical rescue and so on.

On January 16, 2014, Urad Middle Banner People's Government and Inner Mongolia Civil Aviation Airport Group signed a trusteeship operation and management agreement. In December 2014, the Airport Preparatory Office was formally established. The successful maiden voyage on January 31, 2016, marked the official operation of the airport.
