Harbin Taiping International Airport, located in the center of Northeast Asia, is the best stop point for routes from Southeast Asia to North America. In the 13th Five-Year Plan, Harbin Taiping International Airport is positioned as one of the top ten international aviation hubs in China and the only international aviation hub in Northeast China.

In 2022, Harbin Taiping International Airport vigorously promoted the recovery and development following the requirements of containing the epidemic, stabilizing the economy, and keeping development secure, registering a total of 81,000 transport flights, 9.49 million passenger throughput, and 96,000 tons of cargo and mail throughput. After 2015-2020, the passenger throughput returned to first place in Northeast China.
