Tonghua Sanyuanpu Airport is located southwest of Sanyuanpu Town, Liuhe County, Tonghua City, with a straight line distance of 38.5 kilometers and a highway distance of 50.9 kilometers. Its construction started on June 19, 2011, with a total investment of 394.07 million yuan. The airport passed the completion acceptance on January 23, 2013, passed the industry acceptance on January 16, 2014, and was officially opened on June 18, 2014. It covers a total area of 2052.7815 mu.

Tonghua Sanyuanpu Airport is a military-civilian airport, but military and civilian aviation aircraft fly in different fields. It covers a total area of 2,052.7815 mu, with a terminal building area of 3,034 square meters and a parking lot area of 3,000 square meters. One runway is 2,300 meters long and 45 meters wide, two vertical connecting roads, and four self-taxiing remote seats (three Class C and one Class B), where B737-700, A320, and similar types of aircraft can take off and land. The airspace area is 4C, the aviation security is evaluated at Level 4, with Level-5 fire protection and first aid. Medical rescue support is undertaken by the Tonghua Municipal Government, and medical rescue personnel is stationed at Sanyuanpu Town Central Hospital.

Tonghua Sanyuanpu Airport currently operates four airlines and seven routes, which reach nine cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Dalian, Hangzhou, Harbin, Qingdao, and Xi'an, mainly covering core first-tier cities such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta, with reasonable layout and stable market network.
