Changbaishan Airport, located in Chixi District, Changbai Mountain Protection and Development Zone, Jilin Province, is the first 4D-class forest tourism airport in China. Since its opening in 2008, it has opened 51 routes in 29 cities and has become an important gateway for sightseeing in midsummer and ice and snow tourism in winter in Changbai Mountain. After the expansion of Changbaishan Airport, it will become a 4D-class regional transport airport with the strongest capacity, the most complete service facilities, and the highest airspace area among the regional airports in Northeast China. The terminal building covers an area of 30,000 square meters, six jet bridges, 95,000 square meters of apron area, 20 parking areas, covering an area of 342.18 hectares, with a designed annual throughput of 1.8 million passengers, an annual mail throughput of 3,400 tons and 18,750 annual flight. It is an indispensable air passage and bridge for the development of the tourism industry in Changbai Mountain.
