Ji'an Jinggangshan Airport, located in Taihe County, Ji'an City, was at the foot of Jinggangshan, which is known as the cradle of the Chinese revolution. It was built in August 1975, the expansion project started on October 19, 2002, and was completed and opened on May 18, 2004. In recent years, Ji'an Jinggangshan Airport, by relying on the red, green, and ancient tourism of Dajinggang, closely focuses on the city’s development plan of "promoting all-for-one tourism in Ji'an", and strives to lead its peers, ushering in a period of rapid development. On April 11, 2014, the second phase expansion project of Ji'an Jinggangshan Airport was approved by higher-level industry departments. On September 19, 2019, the second phase expansion project of Ji'an Jinggangshan Airport was completed, and the new terminal building was officially opened. The new terminal building covers a total area of 13,640 square meters, with a runway of 2,600 meters, an area of 29,800 meters of the apron and linking taxiway, nine apron parking areas, and four jet bridges, which can handle an annual passenger throughput of one million and cargo and mail throughput of 3,500 tons. In 2019, the passenger throughput of Ji'an Jinggangshan Airport reached 870,000, and it is making every effort to handle one million passengers.
