On May 18, 2001, it was approved by the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade as a limited company with foreign investment. As the management organization of Capital Airport, Capital Airport Co., Ltd. mainly operates the aviation business and manages the non-aviation business in the Capital Airport. Since its establishment, Capital Airport Co., Ltd. has shouldered the mission of "practicing Chinese service and displaying the image of the national gateway", constantly pursuing excellence in safety, service, and operation, and actively fulfilling its social responsibilities in epidemic prevention and control and environmental protection.

Beijing Capital International Airport has three terminals, three runways, and two towers. As “China’s No.1 Gateway”, it is China's important air portal and window for international exchanges. At the same time, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Economic Circle, where the Capital Airport is located, is situated in the core and important areas of the Bohai Rim and Northeast Asia. As an important hub airport in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, it is an important link in building Beijing into a first-class international metropolis, and it is also playing a supporting role necessary for the development of a first-class city. At present, the Capital Airport is positioned as “the world-class large-scale international hub, China's No.1 Gateway, and the national portal hub.”

In 2018, the passenger throughput of Capital Airport exceeded 100 million for the first time, reaching 101 million. In 2019, Beijing Daxing International Airport was officially put into operation, and Beijing officially entered a new era of “one city, two airports”. The passenger throughput of Capital Airport once again exceeded 100 million, ranking second in the world for 10 consecutive years.

By the end of 2021, there were 85 resident airlines in Capital Airport, including 59 foreign airlines and 26 domestic and regional airlines, which operated to 208 destinations in 54 countries and regions, including 133 domestic destinations (including 3 regional destinations) and 75 international destinations.

Facing the new situation and new requirements of the "14th Five-Year Plan", Capital Airport Co., Ltd. will profoundly fit into the new situation and new pattern, strive to push the Capital Airport toward high-quality development, and make continuous progress towards the vision of building itself into a "world-class airport management company"!
