Beijing Daxing International Airport is a major landmark project in the capital that General Secretary Xi Jinping pays special attention to and personally promotes. Beijing Daxing International Airport, located at the border of Beijing and Hebei, was officially put into operation on September 25, 2019. It took less than five years from start-up to operation. It developed and applied 103 new patents, new technologies, 65 new processes and new construction methods, with a localization rate of over 98%. It is a 4F-class large-scale international hub airport with the highest integration and the most advanced technology in the world. The initial construction is designed for the target of 72 million passengers, two million tons of cargo and mail throughput and 620,000 aircraft movements in 2025. Four runways of "three verticals and one horizontal" and a terminal building of 700,000 square meters have been mainly built. The transportation network of "five verticals and two horizontals" is efficient and convenient. At present, it takes only 19 minutes to reach Daxing Airport from Xiongan New Area and Caoqiao in Beijing at the fastest speed, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is connected in one hour. Four city terminals, Caoqiao, Gu'an, Zhuozhou and Langfang, have been built and put into use, and the city terminals of Lize in Beijing and Xiong'an in Hebei are under construction. In addition, relying on the construction of the aviation hub of Beijing Daxing International Airport, the country has planned an airport economic zone of about 150 square kilometers, which will drive and lead the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region with airport development, boost the development of urban agglomerations with civil aviation, and comprehensively enhance the comprehensive international competitiveness.

Since it was put into operation, Beijing Daxing International Airport has demonstrated and led the construction of a safe, green, smart and humanistic airport. It won the ACI (International Airport Association) Best Health Measures Award and Best Airport Award for two consecutive years. In the assessment of the CAAC Digital Capability (DCI), it has always ranked first in the country. The airport is the first in the country to achieve A-SMGCS four levels of light guidance all-weather application, and its efficiency is leading in China. Its proportion of clean energy vehicles on the air side reached 79%, ranking first in the country. It has realized 100% full-process tracking of baggage landing in and out of the airport, and the process of baggage check-in is as efficient as checking express delivery. It developed and applied China's first deicing liquid treatment and regeneration facility. It’s the CAAC's first national patriotic education demonstration base. It was awarded the title of the 2021 National May 1st Labor Award and was among the 6th batch of National Civilized Units, etc.
