Cold and hot forming solutions to meet the increasing demands of customers
Hollming Works has special expertise in the forming of large and thick workpieces. The choice of the appropriate method - between cold or hot forming - depends on the customer’s needs, as well as the strength requirements and the choice of materials to be used.
The benefit of using cold forming is that it gives the finished piece increased rigidity and cuts down the number of welded seams. In underwater structures, for example, this will mean a lower flow resistance. When hot forming is required, we can offer the customer the benefit of our extensive experience in the area. Retrofitted with heat treatment furnaces, our bending machines allow a continuous hot forming process. This will speed up the forming operation and assure the high quality of the finished product.
Hollming Works also specializes in the design and manufacture of swaging dies. Thanks to our long-standing experience in different forming applications, we have the required expert knowledge to account for such process-related factors as springback or possible changes in the structure and strength properties of the materials used in making the dies.
